Dipping a toe

I started dipping a toe back in Istanbul life yesterday by going down to the best local coffee followed by a stop at the best local cake/antiques shop which sadly doesn’t have the best coffee otherwise I would be there all the time. For dinner we went to the neighbourhood manti shop in Cihangir, which was the perfect way to slip back in as it’s very local feeling, and properly felt like the sort of place one would go to because it is near home. This continued today with a ferry across the water where we went to Ciya for lunch ordering kebabs for the first time, as the GF has determined that he needs to make more blood, so is back occasionally eating meat (I fear my grumpiness might have played a part in this, but the qi master’s advice was clearly the decisive factor). Then a coffee, some biscuits from the very good cake and biscuit shop, and finally the nursery from where we got a cactus and a couple of other plants. These were not as difficult to take across on the ferry as we’d feared, so we have some plants in the living room again. May they live long.

I’m fairly sure I don’t have corona.
